IT offerings : Project Technology

Project Technology
(Grades 9 - 12 by arrangement; 2 periods a week one full school year.)

This course requires the individual study of the processes and techniques used by industry. Student-designed projects are arranged with the instructor who then guides the student through the processes necessary to complete the design and construction. Depending on the complexity of the project, time outside of the allotted two periods a week is often needed. Examples of student projects include entertainment cabinets, sail boats, hope chests, roll-top desks, pin ball machines, telescopes and bobsleds. The student's work will be displayed at the annual Video and Technology Showcase on campus. Students are encouraged to enter their designs in competition at the state level.

This course fulfills the 1/3 additional unit of the Arts requirement.
